Support Vector Machine and Outlier Detection
The support vector machine is normally applied to the classification problems. The regression form of the SVM algorithm is used as the major algorithm of the outlier detection. The SVM regression detects the major trend from data and generates a model for this data. This model can be analyzed by the robust statistics to categorize the data into inliers and outliers.
